Tawau, MALAYSIA

Somebody should write about the timber booming time in the early seventies. I remembered there were approximately 20 nightclubs for such a small place but they are all full house at night. Advance booking must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. Some the popular club were Sungai Emas , Wah Yew Nightclub,
Golden Lotus Nightclub, Far East, Bintang Timor, Royal Hotel and the list goes on. Not forgetting the popular supper joint was Yuen Lok, JKR Restuarant and many others. When the nightclubs closed for business the party goer will adjourn to these places for a good meal before they go home or stay overnight with their so called relatives.
Tawau was a town that never sleep if you know where to go.
John, I’d like to invite you to write some of your memories during the 70’s.
Anyway thanks for sharing!
