Discover Tawau would like to pay tribute to the couple who perished in a serious road accident at KM5 of Jalan Kuhara about a week ago.

Tam aged 35 and Lo aged 27, died on the spot at the accident near the The Lotus Buddhism Studies Mission.

Tawau Police chief ACP Ibrahim Chin said during the 2am accident, they were on their way from Tawau to Air Panas. They were in a Nissan Fairlady which became a mingled wreck after hitting a concrete divider of a drain. Some said they just returned from a party.

The photo below shows a Nissan Fairlady 350Z, similar to the one involved in the crash.

“We believe the car was speeding and lost control before landing in a drain,” according to Chin.

Chin said police were investigating various possibilities that led to the fatal accident.

It was reported that Tam owned a beauty salon while Lo was a recent graduate from the UK who was working in Singapore. She had just returned to Tawau on Tuesday last week.
